About the Journal

Focus and Scope

This journal aims to bring together participants from academia and industry in highlighting the advances in polymer research along with its application to global development. The journal seeks to promote and disseminate knowledge of the various topics and technologies of Polymer research in various sectors like industry, agriculture, health, water, shelter and environmental management. The journal will disseminate the research results among development policymakers, scholars and practitioners with a hope to identify new research directions. It can also have practical implications within interdisciplinary developing fields such as functional / specialty polymers, biomaterials, drug delivery, electronic applications, composites, conducting polymers, liquid crystalline materials; and bring contribution in new fabrication techniques.

The journal covers a wide range of topics; from nylon research to commercial aircraft. Progress in polymer research explores their properties along with their wide-ranging potential and presents science with a hard look at the downward drift in its study support. The articles are published in different fields of polymers such as medicine and biotechnology, information and communication, housing and construction, energy and transportation, national defense and environmental protection. The journal looks towards the advancements of the various classes of polymers like plastics, fibers, composites and other materials; as well as polymers used in membranes and coatings; analyzing how their composition and specific methods of processing result in their unparalleled usefulness.

This journal will not only be important reading for chemists, engineers, material scientists, researchers, industrialists and policymakers but also will be significant to science / engineering educators and students.

Peer Review Process

All submitted manuscripts are read by the members of editorial office. To save time for authors and peer-reviewers, only those papers that seem most likely to meet our editorial criteria are sent for formal peer review. Those papers judged by the editors to be of insufficient general interest or otherwise inappropriate are rejected promptly without external review.

Manuscripts judged to be of potential interest to our readership are sent for formal review, typically to two or three reviewers. The editors then make a decision based on the reviewers' advice, from among several possibilities:

  • Accept as it is
  • Accept with minor changes
  • Accept with major changes, inviting the authors to revise their manuscript to address specific concerns before a final decision is reached
  • Reject
