Amer Samed Al-Adwan - Profile

Dr. Amer Samed Al-Adwan, PhD, is an accomplished Associate Professor at Hamad Bin Khalifa University in Qatar. He earned his Ph.D. in Translation and Intercultural Studies from the University of Manchester, UK, in 2009, with a thesis supervised by Prof. Mona Baker and co-supervised by Prof. Luis Pérez González. His research focuses primarily on Audiovisual Translation and subtitling, emphasizing cultural nuances and linguistic challenges in this field. Dr. Al-Adwan has numerous publications and has received grants and awards for his significant contributions to the academic community. He is also dedicated to education, as a supervisor for Ph.D. and MA theses, and has conducted workshops on subtitling and accessibility in the Arab world.
