Christian Emeka Okafor received B.Eng in Mechanical/Production Engineering in 2006; an M.Eng in Industrial/Mechanical Engineering in 2010; and a PhD in Engineering Design and Manufacturing in 2014. He is a practicing mechanical engineer licensed by Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) and an active member of numerous national science and engineering organizations including, Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), and International Association of Engineers (IAENG). Christian Okafor is currently a senior lecturer at the department of mechanical engineering, Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka Nigeria, where he has employed a wide range of teaching strategies to successfully engage diverse cohorts of undergraduate and postgraduate engineering students in both online and face-to-face classes; his approach has improved the overall student experience and led to quality learning outcomes. He is currently pioneering research on micro and macro scale design of reinforced polymer composite structures using the machine learning paradigm. Dr. Christian Okafor is recognized for his contributions to fibre reinforced composite technology which include innovative research in the design, manufacturing, and optimization. Bringing the wonders of scientific discovery into the classroom, He is a member of the team that won the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) annual oil and gas research grant competition during the 2014/2015 research cycle. He has introduced open-ended projects to material design classes that give students a real experience of scientific discovery. As a design specialist, his broad design and project management capability led to his appointment as a member of committee of building professional in the university, he has served as a deputy director university production processes, member of faculty of engineering Direct Teaching and Laboratory Cost (DTLC) committee, Secretary to Faculty of engineering Research, Innovation and Development committee, NAU and editorial secretary, Journal of Engineering and Applied Science.
