Dr. Lai, currently the Anadarko Presidential Professor in the School of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering at the University of Oklahoma, received his B.S. degree in Power Mechanical Engineering from National Tsing Hua University in 1978, and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Delaware in 1985 and 1988, respectively.  He is very active in research.  He is most well-known for his work in heat and mass transfer in porous media as well as enhanced heat and mass transfer using electrohydrodynamic techniques.  His current research interests include bio heat transfer and microfluidics.  Dr. Lai has published more than 150 technical papers in archival journals and conference proceedings.  He has received numerous awards for his contributions in teaching and research.  Dr. Lai is a Fellow of American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and an Associate Fellow of American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA).
