The aim of the study was to observe parasitic effect on lipase and glucose content in the tissue of artificially infested host pigeon with cestode parasites. Gastro-intestinal tract associated organs were extracted from the body cavity of dissected animal. Gizzard, liver, spleen, pancreas were separated and preserved. Thereafter, Lipase and glucose determination was carried out from these organs.
It was observed that parasitic infection decreased lipase in liver and spleen while increased in pancreas. Higher lipase content was measured in infected animal’s crop a lesser content was measured in gizzard. It was also observed that infection impaired glucose level in intestine and other organs as well. Parasitic infections enhanced the glucose level in intestine and crop, while decreased glucose level in spleen, pancreas and liver.

Abstract: The effect of gamma radiation source (Cs137) on the aqueous solutions of the Sandalfix Golden Yellow CRL dye was determined in the range 0-1kGy. λmax of the dye was determined by UV/VIS spectrophotometer before the exposure of gamma radiations and was found to be 422 nm. Absorbance of the sample solutions was studied at λmax of the dye at pre and post irradiation. It was determined that the Absorbance of the sample solutions was decreased with increasing absorbed dose. The exposed dye solutions were found to be discolored due to the structural changes in the dye solutions and the discoloration of the dye was found linear with respect to absorbed dose.

Abstract: The parasitization of Trichogramma chilonis parasitoids was found higher in the blocks where parasitoids were released to control Chilo infuscatellus at weekly interval (52.4 %) as compared to fortnight (40.9%) and monthly intervals (32.7%). Mean parasitization was (42.7%) when 80,000 thousand parasitoids were released on monthly basis followed by 41.4% (40,000), 37.8% (20,000) and 34.0% (10,000). However the mean infestation was below economic threshold levels ranging from 5.3 to 6.5 % in all the blocks where the parasitoids were released in variable numbers.

Some New Exact Solutions for Prescribed Vorticity Distribution of Couple Stress Fluids in the Presence of Unknown Body Force

http://dx.doi.org/10.6000/1927-5129.2012.08.02.39
Abstract: In the present paper, we indicate some new exact solutions of equations of motion for plane steady incompressible couple stress fluids flows in the presence of unknown body force for which vorticity distribution is defined by Eq. (12). All solutions involve arbitrary real constants and arbitrary real constants depending on the parameter è indicating that a large number of streamfunctions and expressions for body force can be constructed. Some streamfunctions ø are constructed for some values of parameters. The streamlines patterns of these streamfunctions are presented and discussed.

Abstract: Present study is done to compare serum Liver enzymes including Alanine Aminotransferase (ALT), Aspartate Aminotransferase (AST) and Alkaline Phosphatase (ALP) in hypertensive and cardiac patients. 24 patients were divided into 4 groups according to their treatment with 4 different types of antihypertensive drugs. Group I treated with Beta-blockers (1+1). Group II treated with ACE-Inhibitor once a day. Group III treated with Nitrates once a day. Group IV is taking Diuretics once a day. Data showed non-significant difference in serum ALT concentration in all groups. A significant rise (p< 0.05) in serum AST and ALP levels among hypertensive and cardiac patients is observed, ranging from 24.63-47.33U/L and 110-2484 U/L respectively when compared with normal controls. Thus, not only the risk of cardiac diseases in future might be predicted by altered levels of enzymes ALT, AST and ALP in serum but their concentrations should be monitored during the treatment of cardiac diseases to minimize the risk of cardiac arrest.
