Effect of Parasitic Infection on Glucose and Lipase of Host Pigeon (Columba livia) Tissues

The aim of the study was to observe parasitic effect on lipase and glucose content in the tissue of artificially infested host pigeon with cestode parasites. Gastro-intestinal tract associated organs were extracted from the body cavity of dissected animal. Gizzard, liver, spleen, pancreas were separated and preserved. Thereafter, Lipase and glucose determination was carried out from these organs.
It was observed that parasitic infection decreased lipase in liver and spleen while increased in pancreas. Higher lipase content was measured in infected animal’s crop a lesser content was measured in gizzard. It was also observed that infection impaired glucose level in intestine and other organs as well. Parasitic infections enhanced the glucose level in intestine and crop, while decreased glucose level in spleen, pancreas and liver.

Gamma Dosimetric Response of Sandalfix Golden Yellow CRL Dye Solutions for Gamma Dosimetry Using Cs137 in the Range 0-1KGy

Abstract: The effect of gamma radiation source (Cs137) on the aqueous solutions of the Sandalfix Golden Yellow CRL dye was determined in the range 0-1kGy. λmax of the dye was determined by UV/VIS spectrophotometer before the exposure of gamma radiations and was found to be 422 nm. Absorbance of the sample solutions was studied at λmax of the dye at pre and post irradiation. It was determined that the Absorbance of the sample solutions was decreased with increasing absorbed dose. The exposed dye solutions were found to be discolored due to the structural changes in the dye solutions and the discoloration of the dye was found linear with respect to absorbed dose.

Radiolytic Reduction of Aqueous Solutions of a Commercial Reactive Dye in the Range 0-100KGY by CO60 Gamma Radiation Source

Abstract: Gamma dosimetric behavior of the aqueous solutions of the Sandalfix Golden Yellow CRL (SGY-145) dye was studied. The sample solutions of two chemical natures i.e., Acidic and Alkaline; were irradiated by Co60 γ-sources in the range 0-100kGy. The “Control samples” were remained un-irradiated and also chemically neutral. The dosimetry was done in three phases i.e., Low, Intermediate and High, ranging from 100-1000Gy, 1-10kGy and 10-100kGy respectively. The found values of the “λmax” and the molar extinction coefficient “ε” of the dye were 467 nm and 3.4×103 mol-1cm-1 respectively. The absorbance (A) of the aqueous solutions was studied at the absorption band maxima (λmax). The behavior of “Alkaline and Acidic solutions” was checked with the help of curve fitting.

Some New Exact Solutions for Prescribed Vorticity Distribution of Couple Stress Fluids in the Presence of Unknown Body Force

Abstract: In the present paper, we indicate some new exact solutions of equations of motion for plane steady incompressible couple stress fluids flows in the presence of unknown body force for which vorticity distribution is defined by Eq. (12). All solutions involve arbitrary real constants and arbitrary real constants depending on the parameter è indicating that a large number of streamfunctions and expressions for body force can be constructed. Some streamfunctions ø are constructed for some values of parameters. The streamlines patterns of these streamfunctions are presented and discussed.

Morphological Study and Determination of M/E Ratio in the Bone Marrow of the Male Adult Ostriches (Struthio camelus)

Abstract: Normal haematopoiesis, cellular components and M/E ratio in the bone marrow of the male adult ostriches (Struthio camelus) were studied. Bone marrow samples were collected from the proximal tibiotarsus bone of 10 healthy adult ostriches. The bone marrow smears were stained using the Giemsa stain. The results indicated that the development and formation of blood cells in the bone marrow of partridge were similar to other birds. The morphology of the cells was similar to chickens, ducks, quail, and black-head gull. The mean myeloid/erythroid (M/E) ratio was 1.02, the mean erythroid percentage was 47.38%, the mean myeloid percentage was 48.15%, the mean thrombocytic percentage was 3.52% and the mean percentage of all other cells percentage was 0.99%.
